Our New Studio

Last summer we were blessed to have met Vicki Shoemaker of 3 Oaks Studio who welcomed us into the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint family. We moved into a local antique store, Paris Flea Market, on September 1st. There we met other fabulous pickers, junkers, repurposers, you name it, ASCP was well received by the customers and vendors using the paint. Some could be lifelong friends but most of all we are grateful for the opportunity to begin there. A short 3 months later, here we are moved into our own studio store-front.

We are finally settling in and have been overjoyed and overwhelmed with all of the support and well wishes we've received from our neighbors and new customers. From the salon across the way who is always sending their customers over, the photography studio who we are already collaborating on projects with, to the gourmet coffee shop at the entrance of our building who courteously delivers treats for our guests, we truly feel blessed to be a part of this new community. For the first time in years we look forward to going to work each day...this paint has liberated us in so many ways. Thank you Annie Sloan for your amazing paint and we thank each and every one of our customers for supporting us throughout our journey!

We hope you enjoy some pictures of our new location and would love to personally share our place to create with each and every one of you. So please stop by if you're in the area and we wish all of you a wonderful holiday season!

A great place to take a break...

And the reason why we won't be losing weight with the rest of the world when the New Year is here...

Distressed Shutter Cabinet

This side table/cabinet had so much appeal but was lacking interest so we decided to highlight its detail on three colors. We used French Linen for the base, Old White on the drawers and around the doors then Provence on teh shutters. There's also Graphite, Greek Blue, Emperors Silk and Antibes Green peeking through.

Adding the hidden colors and playing with knobs.

We weren't sure what style or color we were going to do on this sweet dresser but we knew we wanted to enhance the details. So we chose to highlight the drawers with Chateau Grey mixed with Old White and let the wood be the backdrop. I love the curved apron and drawer detail and we think the glass knobs add the final embellishment that pulls the piece together.

Emperor's Silk Please!

This piece caught my eye because of its size and various possible uses. I envisioned of course a dresser, a buffet, an entry table or a media stand. I painted it in Emperors Silk and applied clear wax but decided to save the dark waxing and knob embellishing for the holiday boutique on Saturday. It turned out to be a great demonstration and it found its owner before we were done with it.

Princess in Olive

I found this darling treasure at a local antique store last month. After slapping on Aubusson Blue, I knew I wanted a green shade instead but none of the ASCP colors spoke to me so I decided to play with a few of the colors. I mixed 3 parts Olive to 1 part Antibe Green and wow, what a beautiful combination it turned out to be! This Princess Dresser is so classy and elegant, can't wait to meet her owner!
